GIS (Geographic Information System) is a critical tool for the production, exploration, and distribution aspects of oil and gas extraction, but it can be an equally valuable tool for constructing the infrastructure and enhancing transportation for this industry. Stahl Sheaffer Engineering employs GIS technology to track the location of well pad construction and pipe laying sites, weight-restricted roads necessary to access them, roadway construction and maintenance projects, and other factors affecting truck and oversize vehicle traffic. We make our GIS portal available to clients as a dynamic mapping tool that displays all of this information visually on customizable maps, and also hosts supporting documentation such as permits, agreements, and contracts.
Stahl Sheaffer imports data from our road condition surveys to help companies map routes and fast track road repairs to meet the requirements of the various Departments of Transportation. The portal includes many layers, including areas that are open to drilling, posted road limits, etc.
